This “23-window” Volkswagen Type 2 (T1) Samba — among the most popular and iconic Type 2 models — is faithfully recreated in 1/24 scale. The rounded, characterful box body is reproduced just like the real van, with the body split into upper and lower parts along the actual blue/white color separation; snap them together like a puzzle and the distinctive two-tone body is finished with no painting required. The moldings along the color boundary, the VW emblem, door mirrors, and wheel center caps are all plated parts, while the tires are solid rubber with a convincing feel and the front wheels are steerable; the taillight lenses are molded in separate colors for the brake and turn signal lights, and the inner reflectors are also plated parts. The three-row-seat interior and the air-cooled horizontally opposed four-cylinder engine on the chassis underside are rendered with thoroughly three-dimensional detail.
