The light armored vehicle was launched in 2002 with four units equipped with steel plate armor and high mobility. It is equipped with a water-cooled 4-cycle diesel engine with an output of 160 hp and a maximum speed of 100 km / h. Utilizing the small body, it can respond quickly to various situations, and it is used mainly by the Ground Self Defense Force’s general department and also by the armored department reconnaissance unit. Since 2004, he has been dispatched to Iraq. Based on the lessons learned, vehicles for domestic use have been improved since 2005, including the addition of fuel cans and brackets for spare tires at the rear of the vehicle. Also, various specifications can be seen depending on the duties of each unit, such as the presence or absence of smoke bomb launchers and machine guns, the shape of the antenna by the radio used.
