Tamiya 31429 1/700 Sakura – Japanese Destroyer

At the end of the Pacific War, a total of 32 ships were built and became the mainstay of the fleet escort mission. This is a plastic model assembly kit of “Sakura” that appeared in November 1945 as the 13th ship and was lost due to a mine in July 1945, near the end of the war. In addition to the simple style composed of the flat surface peculiar to the Type-D destroyer, Tamiya have faithfully reproduced the characteristics of Sakura with the addition of a 25mm single-armed machine gun and enhanced anti-aircraft armament. Molds on the deck such as anchor chains, Type 13 Air Radar and mast are also delicately finished. It will be interesting to try to collect ships of the same type by modifying the weapons.
